A new focus has developed during lockdowns: freedom! Painting needs to be fun! Small colour experiments with monochrome schemes and limited palettes were used to explore new effects – colour evoking feeling. In these small works and those that have developed from them, you’ll see a carefree and experimental approach, from colour play inside and scribbling outside (at sites often with water – lakes, ponds, streams and wetlands). Using mixed media and many tools I’ve aimed for spontaneous abstract compositions with enriched layering to engage the viewer.
